About us
Matthew was a kind, caring young man with his whole life ahead of him. At only 19 years old, his life was cut short by senseless knife violence. Left without their beloved son and brother, Matthew’s family was devastated. They wanted to honour his memory and ensure his death wasn’t in vain. This foundation was created to educate others about the tragic consequences of carrying knives and to support victims the way Matthew’s loved ones wish they had been. We aim to raise awareness and prevent even one more family from suffering like ours. With your help, we’ll keep Matthew’s memory alive and spark positive change in his name.

Matthew’s story:
Matthew Daulby was a beloved 19-year-old from Liverpool with his whole life ahead of him. He was a kind, caring young man who enjoyed spending time with his large, close-knit family, his girlfriend and his beloved Everton.
Matthew had gone out with friends. As the night wound down, a disagreement broke out. Matthew was stabbed and collapsed on the ground as his attacker fled the scene. Matthew’s friends rushed to his aid and called for an ambulance, but it was too late. He died shortly after from his injuries.
The senseless stabbing sent shockwaves through Matthew’s community and family. He was only 19 years old, and his whole future stretched before him. Now, all of that was gone in an instant due to the actions of one man with a knife. Matthew’s loved ones were left reeling from the sudden loss of their son, brother, nephew, and friend.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Matthew’s family has worked to honour his memory and ensure his death was not in vain. They established this foundation to educate others about the dangers of knife crime and support victims the way they wish they could have been supported. Their goal is to prevent even one more family from suffering as they have due to senseless violence.

Our Mission
Gary and Angela are Matthew’s parents, and Tom, Matthew’s brother have been devastated by the loss of their beloved son at such a young age. In the aftermath of Matthew’s tragic stabbing, they were left struggling to comprehend how something so senseless could have stolen their child from them. As Matthew’s parents, it is their mission to honour his memory and ensure his death was not in vain.
They established the Matthew Daulby Foundation to pursue two key goals. Firstly, they aim to educate youth about the very real dangers of carrying knives and the tragic consequences it can lead to. Through funding educational programs in schools and creating impactful awareness campaigns, Gary and Angela want to spark conversations about knife crime and discourage others from making the same dangerous choices. They hope that increased education can help prevent even one more family from suffering as they have.
Secondly, the foundation provides support services for victims and families impacted by knife violence. Gary and Angela wish that they could have received more counselling as they grieved the loss of their son. Through the foundation, they want to offer victims access to counselling resources and temporary financial aid for time off work or other expenses. It is their mission to offer others impacted by knife crime the support services they so desperately need.
In everything they do with the foundation, Gary, Angela and Tom are driven by honouring Matthew’s memory and making positive changes in his name. They aim to continue his legacy and save lives through education and victim assistance.
